Report: Israel strikes Syria in rare daytime attack; Syria fires at Golan

Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense system intercepted a projectile launched from Syria after Damascus accused Jerusalem of carrying out a rare daytime attack on the south of the country on Sunday.

Pictures from Israel’s popular Mount Hermon ski resort, which was full of tourists enjoying the snow-filled hill, showed two trails from Iron Dome missiles while screams from children were heard in a video from the scene.

The interception came shortly after the Syrian regime accused Israel of carrying out airstrikes in the south of the country, triggering air defenses that intercepted several of them.

Apparently Israel fires a few missiles, Syria successfully defends against most, then fires at least one in response, Israel defends.

10,000 troops loyal to Iran are massing on the Iraq-Syrian border.

"Sunday afternoon as a Mahan Air flight from Tehran to Damascus was about to make its approach to Damascus. At 1:30 p.m. the flight turned around and headed away from the city. A Syrian L-76 cargo lifter from Tehran was also en route to Damascus on Sunday morning. These kinds of flights have been seen as suspicious over the last year amid allegations that Iran delivers weapons to Syria and Hezbollah using different airlines as cover. There was no comment on the strikes by Israel, which rarely comments on alleged Israel Air Force operations on the northern front, but Israeli officials have repeatedly voiced concerns over Iran’s presence in Syria and the smuggling of sophisticated weaponry to Hezbollah in Lebanon from Tehran via Syria, stressing that both are red-lines for the Jewish State."

You ship missiles into Damascus from Tehran? You get your doors blown off.

Israeli's will protect themselves.

Israel needs to take (and keep) that `100 mile safety zone from southern Syria, then tell the dictator in Damascus that he’ll lose further if he continues his belligerence .. his Daddy dictator should have been a peaceful and friendly neighbor...instead of launching several major attacks and always threatening inbetween times. It is long past time for these aggressive, hostile Muslims to grow up and stop trying to subjugate or murder everybody else in the name of their Allah. Meanwhile, we must deal with them in the only language they understand... strength (and resolve!), no more messing around or appeasement....and remove (repatriate) them out of Europe, UK, Canada, USA!

Not seeing a lot of Syrian attacks on Israel. They’re in the middle of a civil war. Every time Israel bombs Assad’s forces, they might as well be flying top cover for Isis and al-nusra.

I cannot find anything about that movement anywhere on the web.

I can make inquiries inside the ME, but so far not a peep.

yes, civil war in Syria (with British, French, USA, Russian, Iranian, Kurds of course, Iraqi and Arabian fighters or bombings, plus Israel trying to keep Iranian WND’s away from her border, plus who knows what else is going on there (Chinese rumored several times, too)

Syria has tried several times to destroy Israel, of course.. seriously so....dangerously so, too...........but for the immediate present, yes the dicatorship there is mostly busy with other endeavors...

ISIS was said by the USA admin ..to have been defeated ...
(I’ve no way of verifying anything that’s going on over there, natch!....)but if we wish to believe what we are told (always a problematical policy, smile smile smile).....
then ISIS is no longer a problem

[Israeli aggression against Syria is nothing new.]

Syrian aggression against Israel nothing new. 1948, 1967, 1973. Every one of these would have meant the end of Israel, if Syria had won. That’s not even counting the multi-decade Syrian sponsorship of Palestinian terrorists against Israel that has killed thousands of Israelis. No statute of limitations on murder and definitely none on the state of war that still exists between Israel and Syria.

I feel for the Alawite situation as a 10% minority in a 70% majority Sunni Arab population, but the Alawite role in thousands of Israeli deaths cannot be swept under the rug. The Alawite situation should have improved, now that millions of Sunni Arabs have been pushed out of the country. But until a definitive peace treaty is signed, with Syria recognizing Israel, I’d expect the Israelis to smack Syria upside the head every single time it perceives a threat.

This is especially urgent given the Iranian intervention in Syria. The Iranians are lobbing ballistic missiles into Riyadh from Yemen, where the Saudis are helping the incumbent government, and the Iranians are helping the Houthi rebels. You gotta wonder how Iran would react if the Saudis started firing ballistic missiles at Tehran from Yemen. The Israelis aren’t waiting for the Iranians to start firing missiles at Tel Aviv. They are killing Iranian forces in Syria every chance they get. And that is as it should be. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AMIA_bombing

Meh...when you have to reach back almost 50 years to make a counterpoint, you’re stretching.

So if someone killed several of your family members and almost killed you during 3 murder attempts, the suspect should be left alone because these attempts occurred 50 years ago? Your Arab brethren seem to think that Spain rightly belongs to them because they conquered it fair and square over 1000 years ago. Where’s their statute of limitations on that?

And Iran isn’t firing ballistic missiles at Riyadh 50 years ago. Not to mention that Iran furnished both Hamas and Hezbollah with ballistic missiles that they are firing at Israel. Israelis are being remarkably restrained in not firing cruise missiles at Iran.

The reason I’m not sympathetic towards Arab Christians has to do with the prominence of so many anti-Western figures among that community, ranging from George Habash, head of the Palestinian terrorist group PFLP, Michel Aflaq, founder of Baathism to Tariq Aziz, Saddam’s right hand man. Scratch an Arab Christian, and you find an Arab, not a Christian.
