President Donald Trump sent House Speaker Nancy Pelosi a letter Thursday informing her that he was postponing her upcoming overseas trip because of the ongoing partial government shutdown.
The letter served as the president's response to Pelosi's letter the day before urging the president to either delay his State of the Union address or submit it in writing.
"Due to the Shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed," Trump wrote. "We will reschedule this seven-day excursion when the Shutdown is over."

Is the ban permanent or is it just for a set amount of time?
I don’t use Twitter so I don’t know how it works new line I do have a Facebook account but I can’t seem to find Post that I want to find again. I get lost there all the time so I give up pretty much.
I think permanent.
I haven’t tried logging in, in over year, so I’m not sure.
Every time I tried, before that, they kept telling me to remove my tweet.
As you can tell, it didn’t cause me much worry :-)
Congress is a separate branch with power of the purse. Nancy can charter a fleet of planes if she’s willing to risk it politically.

I noticed my laptop slowing down, a few weeks ago. I decided to clean out my cookies/cache.
Guess who/what was in there? Yep....FB!
I quickly deleted them.
Not saying that was the cause, but just found it interesting they were ‘hiding’ in my cookies caches. So was Gooooogle.
The President should have thought about this more. The military plane was surely all fueled up and ready to go. Money would be wasted if the flight was canceled at the last minute. He should have ordered the pilots to fly the passengers to Gitmo instead.

When I was a young college student, I took my roommate to the airport in Tuscaloosa so she could catch a flight home. It’s a very small airport. While we were waiting for her flight, we saw a couple sitting there. The man was reading the newspaper. My roommate whispered to me that the man was the local Congressman. I’m not sure why she was aware of who he was. Neither of us was from Alabama. Anywho, he heard her and looked up and smiled at us. He seemed like an ok person, but who knows. He died soon thereafter of some kind of cancer. The point is that he was flying commercial like a normal person. He and his wife drove themselves to the airport. They were normal people.
