Republican Senator John Kennedy called Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s request to move the date of the State of the Union address a “tactic” that is “making things worse.”
Kennedy suggested that President Trump should speak before the Senate instead if he is unwelcome in the House.
“I think the President ought to go ahead and give the State of the Union as normal,” Kennedy said. “He can come to the Senate if Mrs. Pelosi doesn’t want him to come to the House. I just think that sort of tactic is making things worse.”

Perhaps Pelosi is concerned that the radical, emotionally-charged members of the Democrat/Left caucus (which is most of them!) will simply not be able to control themselves during President Trump’s SOTU speech. Booing, hissing and shouting out is completely within the realm of possibility as a public display of hatred toward Trump (and to our Republic for that matter) will play well with their even-more whacked-out base.

House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer walks back ‘The State of the Union is off’ declaration
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer’s office walked back his stunning declaration Wednesday afternoon that the State of the Union would not proceed as planned.
“Mr. Hoyer had not read Speaker Pelosi’s letter and mischaracterized it,” Hoyer’s deputy communications director, Mariel Saez, told the Washington Examiner.
He didn’t misspeak, he just realized what a stupid idea it was. This is a monumental mess up from the Commie leadership.
I totally agree. Screw the House!

MLK Day is next Monday. Trump can call for a rally at the Mall for Monday and give his speech there.

Doesn’t really matter if she has a good motive. The House slamming the door on the POTUS SOTU address is like that school principal telling her students they couldn’t celebrate Christmas, and it will go over with the electorate the same way.
If Nancy is worried about the optics of her party members booing on national TV, she should get her party inline.
But you and I both know that all she really wanted to do was take the bully pulpit away from POTUS Trump on an issue that she knows she cant win.
She touted herself as a political god. She is proving herself to be a buffoon in her 7th stage of man.
I don’t think that’s a good idea. If Trump makes ML King day about the state of the union, it’s not going to go over well.
Trump should let ML King day be about ML King and the state of the union address about the state of the union address.
At the mall, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial, with the Reflecting Pond and the Washington Monument at the other end, and Congress nowhere in sight, is a great Trumpian visual.

The Democrats cannot afford to give him another two hours of free air time, and they are terrified he will invite the Angel moms to the address. And he should.
He needs to give the SOTU speech, just as it is always done. Pelosi doesn’t get to call the shots. SHE’S the one who’s going to look stupid, here. And go ahead, Nancy, (and Chuck) and your cohorts -— sit on your hands as President Trump introduces Angel parents, telling of their pain, caused by the absence of a WALL, as he did last year. If they thought he went overboard on that subject last year, just you WAIT! He has even MORE heft on that subject this year, than last! No doubt this year, he will also have border patrol agents and other federal employees, who stand behind him, even if they aren’t getting paid, right now. And he can put it ALL at Nancy and Chucks feet. Exactly where it belongs! It’s no WONDER she wants it postponed! She’s painted herself into a corner.
The House can’t cancel something that the president has the right to do.
The look on Pelosi’s face is classic! Confusion, horror, and stupidity in a single expression.
Hoyer, Pelosi, and all of the Demoncraps want the SofU cancelled, but they don’t want their fingerprints on the final decision — they are hoping for POTUS Trump to decide for them. It is a nice opportunity for POTUS to stick it to the ‘Rats, one way or another. I look forward to what he decides. I suspect he will do a new unconventional historic “SofU” in his own way, without needing to go before the Demoncraps in Congress. Speak directly to the American people, either from the Oval Office or from some suitable setting elsewhere.
Can he do that? If he can, it’s a clear sign of victory for the President! They BLINKED! They KNOW how the speech would go, and they’re AFRAID! They gambled, and they LOST!
Yep, simply move it.
