Republican Senator John Kennedy called Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi’s request to move the date of the State of the Union address a “tactic” that is “making things worse.”
Kennedy suggested that President Trump should speak before the Senate instead if he is unwelcome in the House.
“I think the President ought to go ahead and give the State of the Union as normal,” Kennedy said. “He can come to the Senate if Mrs. Pelosi doesn’t want him to come to the House. I just think that sort of tactic is making things worse.”

And give red-carpet treatment to Angel Moms and Dads.
Devote a good portion of the SOTU as to why exactly they are there (Piglosi/Shoemer and border security).
Explain in the SOTU why “the wall” is an euphemism for not just a barrier, but complementing technology (that HAS been invented) and personnel.
Hoyer just said they canceled it.
Who cares. The SOS is a spectacle. 99% of Americans won’t miss it.
Tell you what Nancy: you and the rest of Congress give up your pay and then we’ll talk about moving the SOTU.
If you mean the Dems just cancelled the SOTU in the House, then that’s even more stupid than making the request to cancel in the first place. If so, Nancy has out done herself...but when your enemy is in a whole, do you tell them to stop digging?
I believe as the tradition of the SOTU is an address to the people via the House of Representatives in Congress the President should address the people directly via television, as the House Speaker has made it clear she doesn’t want to accept the responsibility of hosting our President for such purpose.
..and have some illegals running across the white house lawn in the background...wouldn't that be a hoot!!

My wife doesn’t follow politics. Doesn’t care for it much. Doesn’t watch the news, doesn’t watch his rallies.
But, last year she watched the SOTU. She told me she was so very impressed with his speaking skills and his ability to get the message across. I was a bit stunned but it was a good sign.
Hoyer mispoke.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer told CNN hours later: "The State of the Union is off" — but had to walk back those definitive comments later."Mr. Hoyer had not read Speaker Pelosi's letter and mischaracterized it," Hoyer spokeswoman Mariel Saez said in a statement.

Trump ought to just state that he will give the SOTU speech from the Oval Office.
When the Rats demand equal time to respond, do the same thing he did on his Border Security Speech. Don’t Give the Rats the speech in advance. He should end the speech with this, “ my fellow Americans i am sure you have heard all the whining the Rats have been making about the shutdown. Now consider this, These SAME Politicians who are so concerned about the out of Work Federal employees and their pay are the SAME Politicians that are NOT DOING THEIR JOB WHILE BEING PAID, Hansomely I might add and continue to allow Millions of Illegal Aliens to flood our country eating up Social service dollars by the HUNDREDS of Billions of Dallars a year. All because I requested 6 Billion to make your life safer.”
Then watch as they sputter talking points and look like idiots again.
Maybe he should have one of his Trump Rally’s and speak before the people.
Tell Nancy to cut the crap and get out of the way. The Democrats are like spoiled children who object to everything, hoping the distressed parent will finally cave just to get some peace. We don’t want peace, we want our President speaking his address just like every other President has the opportunity to do.
