There was a similar case a few years ago where Alan Sokal, a physics professor at New York University, wrote a bunch of papers parodying the buzzwords of post-modern philosophy that were without any actual meaning but filled with the "right" jargon. They were published in top-tier philosophy journals.
He took some flack for it, but it didn't destroy his career because unlike Boghossian, the field he was satirizing wasn't politicized. As I recall, Sokal had a reputation for being a political lefty, which probably is another reason he wasn't in any jeopardy.
