William Barr, President Trump's pick to serve as his next attorney general, said he would not fire special counsel Robert Mueller if President Trump ordered him to do so without good cause.
Sen. Chris Coons (D-Conn.), who asked Barr about how he would respond, tied his question to Watergate scandal when the prosecutor investing Watergate resigned instead of following then-President Richard Nixon's order for him to fire the special counsel investigating the matter.
"Most famously when directed by president Nixon to fire the special counsel, the prosecutor investigating watergate, Richard Nixon resigned, as we all know. If those directions were to fire Mueller, would you follow Richard Nixon's example and resign instead?" Coons asked Barr.
"Assuming no good cause," the lawmaker added.
"I would not carry out that instruction," Barr told Coons.

Absolutely true: And therefore we no longer have a constitutional government.
As someone who is already planning to be insubordinate, Trump should pull his nomination TODAY.

Maybe Trump knows more than you and I. I remember at a press conference once when he said that he knows a lot more about the Russia investigation than the media think they know. It was him before anyone else mention it that Obama was wiretapping his phones. He got that information from somewhere

My take on the Barr Nomination...It was a payoff to Linda Grahamnasty.
Graham gets his AG pick and Linda(as new head of Judiciary committee) pushes thru all the court nominees.
The fact that Andrew McCarthy thinks so highly of Barr makes me not want him.
In the Buckley days, NRO would have written all the reasons why it would be appropriate for the President to fire Mueller.

It's obvious President Trump never dreamed of the depth of evil he would face. He is used to working with ambitious but basically decent people, but D.C. is completely depraved. It would be difficult to find more than a handful of politicos who are not self-serving cutthroat liars -- TOTAL PHONIES.

Barr said Robert Mueller was “an excellent choice” for the special counsel to investigate Russian collusion. Smelling anything yet??
