He also said he could not imagine Mueller placing himself in a position that would provide good cause for his firing.
Really now. Considering all of Trump's past treatment of Mueller and the Special Council, and now his hiring a 20+ year personal friend of his as AG, things are becoming pretty clear. Trump is OK with Mueller's investigation. Mueller is valuable to Trump as a foil, a nemesis, a twitter target, a boogie man. He can continue to rail against the great conspiracy. If you want to reel someone in, limit them, or even fire them, you don't hire their long time friend to do it for you.
You think, just maybe, the POTUS could find an AG to oversee Mueller that was not his friend? But no. He picks the guy who has known Mueller for decades. The guy whose daughters weddings Mueller attended. The guy whose wife attends bible study with Mueller's wife. I think Trump is going to miss Mueller when he's gone, or maybe offer him a cabinet post. And I'm only half joking here.
I just hope Trump is not starting to phone it in.

Lindsay asked Barr if Sessions should have recused himself. Barr answered yes, I think he did the right thing. The Lindsay said, yes I agree also.
But Lindsay didn’t ask if Rosenstein and Mueller should have resigned due to conflict of interests with the Clintons.
We are being played yet again by Lindsay and Barr appointment.
Trump has said how many times already he has no intention to fire Mueller. The Press is just chomping at the bit for Trump to do so, ain’t gonna happen.

No. POTUS picked someone confirmable by the Senate. I have no doubt the Mueller Coup and rampaging Democrats have bullied successful people away from working in the Trump admin. Only those willing to carry water for the Deep State need apply.
Look how fast that DAG bugged out to Walmart after she name was mentioned in the press as a possible conservative replacement for Sessions. It only took a few months and she was GONE. The idea Trump has a free hand to nominate who ever he wants is silly. McConnell is driving that bus.

On the surface it doesn’t seem to make sense. Here is a President that often complained about Jeff Sessions and his recusal yet he left him in that job for two years.
Now Trump replaces Sessions with someone who doesn’t seem to have a problem with Sessions’ recusal and is best buds with Mueller who Trump claims is conducting a witch hunt. Further ... Barr doesn’t think Mueller is on a witch hunt.
Certainly Trump is making it clear he is selecting an independent AG. Maybe that’s his plan. OK but I see no evidence this guy Barr is going to go after these dem criminals.
