The Washington establishment has a strange code of justice that only makes sense to the bipartisan pack of House and Senate members who belong to it, but to the rest of America, it’s a head-shaking phenomenon.
As you may have heard, Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, a champion of POTUS Donald Trump’s immigration reform and border security policies, has been stripped of his committee assignments for his alleged ‘praise’ of “white supremacy” and “white nationalism.”
According to a New York Times story by reporter Trip Gabriel, the ‘full’ quote that he attributed to King was:
“White nationalist, white supremacist, Western civilization — how did that language become offensive?” Mr. King said. “Why did I sit in classes teaching me about the merits of our history and our civilization?”
Horrid, right? It was bad enough for the Republican Steering Committee, which hands out committee assignments, to act on House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy’s (R-Calif.) recommendation to remove King from the House Judiciary, Agriculture and Small Business committees.

Yes. Dems don't throw their own to the wolves like Republicans do. They close ranks. Plus, no Democrat is upset by what Tlaib said. Every Democrat is upset by what King said and this is very concerning to Republicans who want Democrats to like them.
Finally, Republican House leaders are angry at King for winning. He was supposed to lose like Roy Moore did after GOP leaders abandoned him.
What gets me is the idiots who applauded and laughed at the use of the MF word like it was clever, or a mark of brilliance.
Rep. King mis-poke, but I don’t think he endorsed white supremacy.

The political class supports itself. Republicans are a part (a weak, perfidious part, but a part nonetheless) of the political class first and foremost. They also happen to agree with Tlaib, and will not stand for someone outside the political class holding office.
Absent a foreign invasion or huge natural disaster, this bleeding rift in our nation won’t be mended peacefully, if at all.

First day of the new Congress.
Everybody was probably still hung-over for the next few days.
It does take some time for Congress to get organized.
Plus, she'd have to show pattern of abuse during her time in Congress, so I guess she gets one free pass.
Steve King has a record of putting his foot in his mouth and isn't getting free passes anymore.

McCarthy needs to be taught a lesson, good and hard, and one that he won’t forget when contemplating acting like a Democrat agent and sabotaging those who defend the wall. Don’t know what it might be, but McCarthy must have a buried past or secret that should be used to blow him up.
