I think it's safe to say that party affiliation has become highly disconnected from political philosophy in many respects.

Idaho can. From 1952 Idaho went republican every year except 1964. Johnson defeated Goldwater there by less than two percentage points in ‘64 50.92% to 49.08%.

I know Dinesh and Shapiro and Hannity and Rush like their theories simple and self serving for access but this notion Republican defines conservative is balderdash as this 1964 electoral map shows....who besides his home state supported Barry...why dastardly Dixiecrats .....and the few Republicans in Dixie like my dad and grandpa ...certainly not northeastern white shoe GOP...just like anti Trumpers they supported the enemy
