Christ did not mean this in a literal way. If it were to be understood literally, then no Christian would enter life with two feet, two eyes or two hands, as all Christians have sinned and still sin. Sin originates in the mind. Even a maimed, lame or blind person can and does still sin. The Lamsa Bible explains that the expressions plucking out your right eye and cutting off your right hand are Aramaic idioms, meaning stop envying [with your eyes] and stop stealing [with your hands]. [Likewise, the Lamsa Bible explains that the phrase turn your cheek, as used in Matthew 5:39, is another Aramaic idiom, meaning, Do not start a quarrel or a fight. The Nelson Study Bible adds: Cut it off should be taken figuratively; it means to take whatever drastic action is necessary to avoid sin.
It's one thing to sin and ask forgiveness and an altogether different thing to justify and practice sin, calling evil good and good evil.
He should be denied asylum for being stupid. He's talking about Islamo-fascism. LEFT-wing. LEFT.
He’s being sarcastic.
Milo having trouble with his green card? Last I heard, he had run up a bunch of unpaid bills on his wild spending sprees.
The fact that we are even having this discussion shows how far we have fallen to the depths of Sodom and Gamorrah. BTW...Islam is a Sodomite religion. The routinely commit pederasty in maddrassahs and bugger their victims in war
So, I discover now that I agree with Muslims on ONE thing.
Too bad, Milo, you are not only different but you are queer.
“If you could NOT change, you would be in most pitiful shape...”

We were each, as Non-Believers, lost; wallowing in Sin. Each of our own perversions may be viewed as greater or lesser than the image of Homosexuality. We fool ourselves: Every sin we reveled in would have taken us to the depths of Hell, no matter how we viewed it.
Though I feel strongly about the sin of Homosexuality, I realize my own sins are viewed as depraved in the eyes of my Lord. But for the Love of Christ towards His Father and His understanding of the payment required for my soul, I would still be wallowing in my sin and Lost.
Homosexuality and the various subsets of actions? Sin.
Slothfulness, greed, excessive love of food, enjoying physical harm of others and even of oneself...so forth and so on....? All Sins.
Yes, Milo, if not a Believer and changing his ways will pay the eternal cost. That said, I do not want him stoned or killed in other ways.
There were so many times I could have been killed or taken by the Lord himself in death in my sins. For whatever reason He saw fit, He graced me with long enough life to come to know Him through the Love of His Son, Jesus Christ. Only after that did I begin to understand what Sin actually was and how dangerous it is in my life.
I want Milo and man he resides with to come to that knowledge of the Lord. The person who was committing the more lethal transgressions are often the ones who after coming to accept Jesus become the loudest, persistent and faithful of the Believers because they truly know how low they were and the truest depth of the coming Hell from which they were rescued.
I’ll get off my soapbox, now. For those that don’t stone me, thank you.
I am so glad, Elsie, for the wonderful Grace of the Lord God. It sounds as if you actively pray for particular struggle the Homosexual Community goes through in going from the Darkness to the Light.
There is a LARGE body of Christians that agree with you.
There is another that claims Jesus' words, "This is my body..." IS literal.
And OTOH; when is the last time you heard the phrase, "Living in sin."?
I am either a fella like the first; or the second.
Luke 18:10-13 (NIV)
Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood by himself and prayed: God, I thank you that I am not like other peoplerobbers, evildoers, adulterersor even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.
But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner.
Very good observation, Elsie.
Unfortunately, I believe myself to stand in both of those sets of shoes at different times as well. Would that it would be the latter set of shoes I stand in more, though there are those times where my mouth (and pride) has seen me in the first set of shoes. (Sigh)
I recall several years ago when a lesbian couple moved in together before the Homosexual Community pushed through the legal ability to marry. Co-workers were giving them House Warming gifts. I didn’t. When asked by others why, I advised them that one, they were a same-sex couple and not getting married and two, even if they were somehow be married, because they were a same-sex couple I could not give any gift that would indicate my approval of the situation. Ruffled several feathers.
At no time was I rude or slighting the lesbian co-worker; I simply do not give approval of their lifestyle.
The same applies for heterosexual couples; I simply do not give approval of that lifestyle. And I made that clear at the time of the House Warming event.
