Not sure if that was a joke, but Trump was thinking of signing the old Senate extension in December. Once Rush and others picked up on it, the WH switchboard lit up. Then Trump’s 2020 campaign manager said the ‘Wall’ was galvanizing his base like no other issue. His internals on Trump went ‘thru the roof’ when he decided to not to sign it. So in a way, Trump followed his polls.

Any solution for dreamers has to cost. Like no criminal record and have to qualify and serve time in the military. Their GI bill will not go for education but will allow them to apply and become citizens.

This is a no-brainer. Given that the key Democrats strongly supported a wall, but now have changed their minds. The Democrats support for a wall was based on common sense. It is nonsense for the Democrats to oppose a wall because they already recognize the need for border control.
You cannot stop a thousand or more illegal aliens from storming our border with a drone and electronic surveillance. The Democrats know that we need a physical barrier.
The Democrats know that our immigration laws are replete with loopholes and insane provisions.
Do the Democrats oppose the wall because they hate Trump more than they love their country?
It is not about the money. We spend more on sugar subsidies.
The Democrats cannot explain or justify their position, so they party in Puerto Rico and Hawaii.
This $5 billion/shutdown thing is kabuki intended to box the dems in.

Very much an “in for a penny-in for a pound” situation. We’re in a “100 year” type moment that will be for nought if PDJT buckles. Bugger’m, they’ve ignored-ridiculed multiple opportunities. Instead, in spite their leadership goes to Hawaii and a group of 30 or so are now in Puerto Rico...caucusing! No clue how that’s being paid for. Meanwhile, it’s 25-degrees with 4-6” inches of snow in Warshning.
