JuliŠn Castro, Former Housing Secretary, Announces Presidential Run
NYTIMES ^ | 1-12-2019 | Maggie Astor

Julián Castro, the former housing secretary and former mayor of San Antonio, announced on Saturday that he would run for president, one of the most high-profile Latino Democrats ever to seek the party’s nomination.

His first campaign stop will be in Puerto Rico, where he will speak on Monday at the Latino Victory Fund’s annual summit and meet with residents still struggling to recover from Hurricane Maria. Later in the week, his campaign said, he will go to New Hampshire.

Mr. Castro, in prepared remarks that he was set to deliver in San Antonio on Saturday, said, “When my grandmother got here almost a hundred years ago, I’m sure she never could have imagined that just two generations later, one of her grandsons would be serving as a member of the United States Congress and the other would be standing with you here today to say these words: I am a candidate for president of the United States of America.”

Not good for Beto.

Why vote for a fake Latino when you have the real thing.

BEWARE THE CASTROS.

The twin brothers and their mother------she is an organizer of the violent, hate-America La Raza.

God knows how many tax dollars went to La Raza from HUD---a known hot spot for corrupt politicians....
and the other govt jobs the brothers held.

Yeah, but...Beto will get the support of drunk driving Latinos. And that's a huge segment!

I think he’s setting himself up to be the VP nominee. Too many bigger names ahead of him in the 2020 RAT race for president. I know the RATS want that big Hispanic/illegal alien vote. It’s just their higher ups don’t actually want one of them to be president.

Julián Castro....Check this guy out. He looks like a Mayan or an Aztec. He is deep state as in deep Aztec state.

Unlike that white Hispanic boy called Beta O’Rourke. You know, the one who has a wife worth billions via her daddy.

Stalking horse.

He knows he has zero chance. He’s there to suck up money and resources from other candidates.

For whom? That will reveal itself.

I am wondering if the “clown car” manufacturers are working on a stretch limo version?

Any idiot can “run” for President. Castro can get in line with 20+ insignifcant Democrap wannabes. Of course I thought Obozo never had a much of a chance back in 2007, so I am not too certain about ruling out some of the Democraps completely as potential nominees. Beating Trump? That is another matter entirely.... I don’t think there is a serious contender on the horizon for 2020, so long as the economy remains robust (don’t #### it up, Federal Reserve!).

Castro took the podium to announce his Presidency greeting the crowd with Buenos dias! (This is America not mexico.....dingbat. You're in the wrong country.)

I expect him to alienate the centre. The Latino vote may hurt Democrats’ chances of election if the Latino's come out for this guy like blacks did BO. But then if he could win he'd certainly open the floodgates for the south to get in at flood stage...and the Dems would love this.

Or running for VP. Or setting himself up for 2024 or later. He won’t even be 60 in 2032.

Do the Kennedys endorse him? I’m sure they’d be OK having a Castro in the WH.
