A race row has broken out in South Africa after health officials advertised for 100 new doctors, but did not allow white medics to apply for specialist roles.
The health department in the KwaZulu-Natal province expanded its registrar programme for 2019 from 314 to 414, but aimed to fill the new posts with only black candidates.
Health bosses said the move was implemented to redress the country's historical racial imbalance of Apartheid that saw most high-ranking positions filed by white doctors.

This particular area of S.A. is over by Durban (eastern coast). I suspect even if they opened it up to whites...you wouldn’t find that many interested in the region (extremely high crime rate). The other issue is that they will end paying those who apply....a lesser wage.
I spent two weeks there this past fall. There’s tons of opportunity and potential...but the government is so corrupted and the public so skeptical of intentions...that it can only fail. I had two or three black African comment that they need a Trump-like figure to arrive and just motivate change.
Where are the UN’s so-called “human rights” persons?

So the real question is not why aren't there more black doctors in the program but why are black doctors not qualified to begin with?
Medical Affirmative Action in South Africa.
A person treating people medically (in possibly life threatening situations) because of his skin color not because they are the best candidate....what could go wrong? And this is the American liberal mentality also BTW.

A friend finally got her elderly mother out of there.
She said most white South Africans don’t even realize how bad it is, let alone what’s coming.

If you are white in SA, particularly in the rural parts of the nation, you have to know its only a matter of time before you are murdered by a mob..... Its not an if, just a when at this point IMHO.
Its a very segregated country... White Affluent Neighborhoods don’t get exposed to the reality.... however, its only a matter of time until the mobs come for them too...

Watch the medical facilities in SA deteriorate to a more primitive service. Quality will go down when quotas are used.

Note to South Africa: merit not “affirmative action” is what lifts the standards folks can accomplish, and be recognized for, instead of one who is merely “rewarded” for not being white.

Beats me, but I have listened to some elderly white South Africans on You Tube who seem to think there is still something called law and order.
My friend is a conservative Trumper, but I have known far leftist South African whites who left and won’t return because “it’s not safe” (sic) but still revere Mandela and deny the ANC is communist.
