Moonbeam Brown and the California Commies have doomed CA taxpayers and ratepayers with their negligent mismanagement of the grid and all thing energy in worship of their False Gods "Sustainable" Energy and "Climate Change."

It would seem the state would be partially responsible if they didn’t properly manage its forests to minimize the fire risk. Ditto, the Feds.

Let it go insolvent. Perhaps it can be piecemealed to the highest bidder and perhaps the new owners can deliver cheaper energy without killing people and destroying the local fauna and wildlife.

Perhaps they should just shut down the grid, since they own it and let the idiots that sue, go without power.

I don’t know all the specifics, but I do recall that new generating plants were all but impossible to build in California. California was forced to buy excess electricity from other states that were allowed to have coal generators.

billions of dollars in potential liabilities from wildfires its equipment may have ignited,...

Are there any engineers out there who can tell how likely it is that transmission lines and stations can cause fires? Isn’t there shut-off protection when voltage rises too much?

Moonbeam Brown and the California Commies have doomed CA taxpayers and ratepayers with their negligent mismanagement of the grid ...

California officials have forced PG&E to give up clean energy generation, forcing PG&E to divest itself of clean power facilities that generated power such as from thermal vents, and forced them to be responsible for power infrastructure that other power generators use. And are forced to pay solar power generators for energy placed on their facilities even though the power is not needed. PG&E is being purposely crippled by PUC officials. Local government wants to cripple PG&E in order to have more control over the people.

PG&E is made the scapegoat, responsible for infrastructure maintenance without the ability to control how it is used.

The state nay take over PG&E operation. As a state entity it would me easier to avoid suit. Socialized power. What could go wrong.

PG&E is made the scapegoat ...

Nope, they're in on it up to their eyeballs.

The only innocents are California citizens and taxpayers that are NOT Government Employees, PUC Employees, PG&E Employees or DemoRats.

Local government wants to cripple PG&E in order to have more control over the people.

Well, you almost got that right.

I predicted this would happen. The State of California will take over PG&E assets, shareholder and debtors will get nothing. The new “California Public Power System” will be run by political appointees, reliability will suffer and costs will increase. And good luck trying to sue them.

the Californcation politicians and ‘regulators’(many of them, anyways) are so thoroughly corrupted (and especially when it comes to the big 4 or 5 utilities there), that its doubtful they will do anything BUT throw a few more billions of $$$ at the utilities....under some sort of ‘regulatory’ guise, no doubt...as per usual

already with unaffordable utility rates, which helps drive up the cost of living for everybody there, Californicators had best prepare for even higher utilco bills

this corruption transcends politics, or rather it encompasses key players in both political parties (to the extent CA has elected any R’s, they have usually turned out to be GOP-e type corporate-corrupt R’s.. in bed with, working in service for .. the big utilcos......
so it is a matter of corruption and money, not strictly limited to the one political party that has seized control of Calif... if CA ever elects another R governor...unlikely with the election rigging the D’s have installed there.. but if CA ever were to elect another R governor, chances are s/he would just continue the corruption for the big utility corporations that have held sway in California for over a century already)

Navy Patriot - you are spot on. It’s insane out here in Cally. Nice of the Gov to let let PG&E take the rap after he’s done nothing to trim forest growth AND demanded increased electricity for/ from solar panels, wind turbines/ electric cars? PG&E’s taking the fall for a whole lot of idiocy in Sacramento.

House is going up for sale soon soon. And it won’t be soon enough.

pretty sure they know it was the lines, apparently they bounce together in the high winds, making molten metal sparks. THey ahd put out a warning they were going to shut off power for the forecasted winds, then didn’t

Obviously PG&E hasn’t watched enough youtube videos to realize they didn’t start the fire. It was Directed Energy Weapons used in an attack against the U.S. I thought everyone knew that by now... :)

The entire nation is in a natural gas glut, yet CA forces higher cost wind/solar mandates on it’s citizens.

If I were these people I would sue the state AND I live here, these BASTARDS have neglected the forests for decades these damn fires keep happening but I guess the Sierra Club is much more important than the citizens that lose everything including their lives!!! As far as utilities are concerned you can bet your bottom dollar PGE was given a break by greasing the palms of these BASTARD politicians!!!!
