I’m sorry, but WHEN have college age kids ever BEEN tolerant?

It was the University students who were the most fanatical Nazis- even more so than the WW1 vets. The ‘Left’ was in no ways tolerant in the 1960s. The Goldwater boys and girls weren’t exactly loving and welcoming to people who avowed Marxism, either.... The MSM seems to confuse demands for their views being ‘tolerated (IOW imposed on all and sundry) with a willingness to tolerate the views of others (something really rare, regardless of generation, era, or ideology, here, on DU, Jackpine Radical, or Stormfront for that matter)

The Baby Boomers loved having comedians on campus. I had a boyfriend at Rutgers who took me to George Carlin, David Steinberg, Robert Klein concerts there. Of course, with the exception of Carlin, most of the comedians in those days worked clean. It was that generation that also revered The Marx Brothers, Laurel & Hardy, Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin. I still have posters of these comedians from that era.
