Didn’t Ann Coulter like Mitt back in the day in part because she felt he was one of the few Republicans who would clamp down on illegal immigration? She was convinced he would be an immigration hawk, although I can’t remember what she based that on. Mitt is backpedaling here, but I wonder if it’s possible that there’s a grain of sincerity in what he’s saying.

Good deal. There is one Senate vote accounted for. Even Romney is OK with the wall. Where are the rest of them?

Romney continues to rise rapidly toward the mantle of the Senate since his arrival in Washington yesterday. Currently at Base Camp 4, his ascendancy will begin afresh at dawn. Arrival at the mantle itself is expected at approximately 3:15 p.m. EST tomorrow.
Asked about his plans after reaching the mantle, he said he hopes to continue his animal experiments strapping dogs into wind tunnels and exposing them to increasing velocities of airstreams between 50-150 mph.
