FY Sheila Jackson-Lee and your racist white tax. Over my dead body!
$100,000 per person & a one-way fare to another country
Are reparations owed to families of Union soldiers that died fighting to end slavery?
My recommendation is to ship anyone talking about slavery reparations back to afri a and revoke their citizenship and entry privileges forever.
Reparations aren't the goal. They know they'll never get them. The goal is the funding for the so-called study. How much taxpayer $ are we talking and whose cronies will cash in...?
dredging up a dead issue from 150 years ago is hardly “healing”
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee are you so ignorant and out of the times that you do not realize that the civil war settled the issue of Secession. Slavery was and is illegal. Can’t you accept that and move on?
So sick of all this PC garbage.
It is a wolf (communism) in sheep’s (PC) clothing.
Keep pushing it, commie blacks and enablers. Want another civil war?
Hows she going to deal with the 3000+ black slave owners in this bill?
Is she also going to condemn the african tribes that sold off the tribes they beat in battle to the slave traders?
Is she going to slam africa for stoll allowing slavery to continue to this day on the african continent?
and then there is the solid FACT that other black tribes captured and sold the slaves who were fortunate enough to be sent to the USA to be the most KINDLY treated slaves in the history of the world.
If you don’t know who your daddy is, how are you going to trace back and find out if your family was ever a slave?
The main point of this would be another Trump Trap.
Just calculate the difference in living standards of descendants of African slaves in the US and Africans still in Africa and base the reparations on that.
They keep pushing. They’re going to find an edge.
Our domestic enemies are going to clog up the House with anti-American legislation.
At least the horseclinton won’t pass the Senate.
I was triggered all the time during the Obamanation, where’s my check?
We have been doing reparations since 1930s and has made and enslaved blacks to this day and ruined family structure.
Lee is a useful tool and divider.
Booker T Washington said it best, if whites would keep their hands off us, we’d be fine.
Reparations, or welfare, has ruined black family structure, and ruined many a black wall street.
Calling Candace Owens...call this grifter out!!!
- Please note that this Sermon is delivered only a few years after the end of the Civil War by this outstanding scholar/legislator/Bishop of the A.M.E. Church.
"Let us see what it is that makes us so great; wherein lies our strength. What has made us one of the greatest powers of the earth, politically and intellectually? Have we come to the conclusion that it is Righteousness that exalteth a nation? We have met to-day at the request of the President of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant, and also the Governor of our beloved State, Rutherford B. Hayes. For what? Why call us from our homes? Why come to the house of God? Why not go to the hall of mirth and to the places of amusement to-day? No that is not what they want us to do. We are commanded to go to our 'several places of worship, and there offer up thanks to Kind Providence which has brought our nation through the scenes of another year, and blessed the land with peace, plenty and prosperity.' Then as Americans we have reason to rejoice and congratulate ourselves on the greatness of our beloved country; at this the close of the first hundred years of experimental government of the people, by the people, and for the people. To be a citizen of this vast country is something, and to share in its privileges and duties is more than something." - Dr. Benjamin W. Arnett, 1876 "Centennial Thanksgiving Sermon" - Library of Congress - African-American SectionIf current generations of youth in America go to the Library Of Congress web site (web address provided above) and read this lengthy Address by a remarkable Black scholar of history, Ohio State Legislator, and A.M.E. Bishop, who had lived through the years surrounding the Civil War, then their perspective might be enhanced, enlarged and encouraged by their pride in such an intellectual giant from America's history.
