I heard it was beri-a-musing.

It’s the funniest English comedy since “A Fish Named Wanda” 30 years ago. Steve Buscemi (Krushchev), Jeffrey Tambor (Malenkov), and Michael Palin (Molotov) deserve Oscars. It’s delicious watching these Red gangsters knife each other in the back, only to see Brezhnev sitting in the balcony in the last scene.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
FUN WITH CHAMBER MUSIC
SAINT-SAENS: VIOLIN SONATA IN D MINOR, OP. 75
This is a wild ride for the violinist who has to play entire pages of sixteenth notes at high speed. Its an exhilarating ride for the listener who ends up on the edge of his seat. This is an all-star performance. Ive known pianist Jeremy Denk for years, and hes at the top of his form here. Its a great disk to own.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, Publius!
Yikes on the black ice! Glad you’re staying home!
It’s been raining buckets here, too, but no frigid temps in store for us.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
FUN WITH CHAMBER MUSIC
BEETHOVEN: QUARTET IN C, OP. 59/3
The viola sets the pace, and then its off to the races. The first subject is a fugue, and it flashes by at tremendous speed. Near the end Lou drops the theme off a cliff, and you lean forward waiting for it to go splat. Then he heads for the finish line. I met the cellist of this quartet when he was 12 years old, and hes becoming a star.

About 20 minutes ago we had a bigger and longer quake than yesterday. Hmmm....
And I can’t get fotki...a just end to my day. We had NO internet for most of the morning. What a mess for a short week.
