Beethoven had a puckish sense of humor. The finale has more gags in it than a Jay Leno monologue. The second subject at :43 is so bad that the only thing you can do with it is repeat it on different instruments. It goes around in circles, a good example of Lou’s humor. The subject ends with a Campbell Soup “Mmm-good” delivered in chromatic drops. At 5:49 the piano jumps into a remote key, the violin and cello catch him, shove him back into the correct key, and the piano pulls Pee Wee Herman’s famous “I meant to do that.”

It's the kind of thing that could have been used in "The Death of Stalin," but the producers opted to have their own composer write pseudo Prokofiev and Shostakovich. I've watched that movie four times, and it gets funnier every time.
