Screw Mexico. How much more are we going to put up with? This is an invasion pure and simple and need to be dealt with as such. Trump needs to put the military on the border ad stop this-NO. Not as some of the hyperbolic here clammor with A-10’s strafing the column and such things but a determined, non-lethal response. ENOUGH!
If anyone can make it across they can stay after serving a 20 year sentence.
When that happens, I'll begin to believe we're serious about border security.
It’s really not that hard to figure out how to stop this.
For one thing you make all non commercial remittances to Mexico by wire to be taxed at 75%. You jail, not fine, executive officers of companies that knowingly hire illegals.
Too little and too late.
Explicitly limiting rules-of-engagement to non-lethal responses will be ineffective and insufficient to halt the swarms.
There needs to be armed US Military patrols along the border with authorization to fire on hostile forces and take prisoners for detention camps. They also need authorization to make cross-border raids if they take any fire from inside Mexico. And yes, that includes killing Mexican Police and Army if they interfere.
Hopefully the Mexican Government will instead supply targeting information against the Cartels, and then look the other way when "stuff happens".
The Mexican Government can come to an understanding about staying out of the way - or not. Either way, the border must be closed to illegal immigrant "caravans".
Effective non-lethal measures would include prosecuting the leaders of US-based organizations who are assisting the invaders, and also seizing the assets of those organizations. I am not seeing any indicators that this is going to happen.

The only way to repel an invasion is through overwhelming leathal force.
