The unidentified man, who was providing medical assistance in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has shown no symptoms of Ebola...

“This person may have been exposed to the virus but is not ill and is not contagious,”

Doctors will work with federal, state and county public health officials to monitor the man and secure the area so no members of the public or other patients are exposed.

The man is not officially a patient [?] at Nebraska Medicine, but will be monitored there for two weeks, hospital officials said.

I hope that by "monitored" they mean quarantined.

Just a reminder.. there is a very high probability that all of your heathcare providers, including your doc, are all Mengele medicine participants.

So...if I understand correctly.... if you are working in an Ebola contaminated area of the world, you can just hop on a plane to the USA, no questions asked? And then transfer all around at various airports and get on various connecting flights, and come back to Anytown USA and join in the, say, NYE festivities, and no prob, until on Jan 1 you start bleeding profusely from every orifice?

Cause that is not ok.

Isn’t it racist to deny entry to a third world epidemic? /s

What about in relation to the journalist who just died of swine flu? Since Swine flu seems to be more deadly than Ebola these days then why is no one doing any monitoring there.

Remember “conscience of a conservative” who defended Kaci Hickox?
Can’t wait to hear some ghost of them take up the sword for the latest Ebola patient.

we should forbide people from coming back to the states once they have willingly gone into these danger zones....I am serious....

its one thing to do things on your own but then you expect the whole nation and its taxpayers to take care of you .....sort of like climbing Mt Hood and then expect to have helicopter rescue....

Ebola is not transmitted that way. You could sit next to an infected person for days. If the are no fluids transferred, you won’t get it.

Of course, they end up bleeding from every possible opening, so it’s hard not to get a drop or two on you.

You and I might not think it’s right but nothing is stopping them. And if you’re a doctor or nurse or even a surgeon, you can immediately start seeing your American patients again.

“Not contagious” Oh, that’s rich! How about Dr. Ted Cieslak give him a big kiss and let the non-contagious patient sneeze on him.

Wasn’t there a doctor from Nebraska that was in Africa the last time? Same guy maybe?

Thats why one of the first questions you get asked at the hospital is if you have been traveling out of the country within the last 90 days.
