NBC is a cousin of MSNBC. They both suck.

NBC must believe, for some unknown reason, that it still has credibility. They truly live in a bubble.

Wife and I have joint income of about $75000/year. After subtracting $21,036 for ObamaCare, don't tell me that $6800/individual is affordable.

And your insurer is under no obligation to use it's market power to assure your deductible is well spent. Plus even if you use an HMO you will always be exposed to a significant risk from out-of-network providers if you require hospitalization, emergency treatment, or surgery. This makes a joke out of the premise you have coverage for catastrophic events. Yet another fraud of an "accomplishment" by Obama.

I’m waiting for real health insurance reform, where it never has anything to do with your job, and it’s more like car insurance (but state lines don’t matter), and people call someone like Geico, or AllState or whomever, and a pool of millions of people across the country all contribute to insurance coverage, and you can shop around any time you want but, conversely, if you want to stay with one health carrier for your whole life, there would be nothing stopping you.

The current system is so broken. Just let people use the market place. Just get out of the way.

I’ve owned my own businesses for over 30 years. Always provided small group health insurance for my employees. Our rates closely track the individual market, as we’re a just a handful of individuals.

Sine the spawning of DeathCare by the kenyan anti-Christ, our premiums have more than doubled, and our deductibles increased even more than that.

Interestingly, as the president essentially vitiated the individual mandate, meaning the insurance companies no longer had a captive audience forced to buy their product, our premiums this year (for the first time ever), came down abot a quarter of a percent.

There really is no hope for a solution to this problem going forward. Forcing insurers to cover pre-existing conditions has now become non-negotiable.

The product that insurance companies is now selling is not really insurance. They are now just acting like a government entity redistributing wealth. If anything, medical coverage will get more expensive and worse because of all the waste, fraud, and abuse that occurs with all government-run and government-mandated programs.

".... The only people who laud Obamacare are people who are not on it....."

Reminds me of a line Clint Eastwood had in his most recent movie, The Mule.

The only people who want to live to be a 100, are those who are 99.

This thread led me to look up what an Obamacare plan would cost me (I’m still employed so I was curious). $9,240 per year with $7,000 deductible. For a Bronze plan! Unaffordable Care Act for sure!

ObamaScam is not insurance.

It is government control benefiting the insurance companies.

With very high premiums and out-of-reach deductibles, it is a money-making scheme for the insurance companies.

With the high premiums and the extraordinarily exorbitant deductibles, it's like not having insurance at all.

People might as well just pay the penalty, since they are paying their medical bills out of their own pocket anyway and the deductible never kicks in.

"It’s estimated that if we went back to the days of 50 million uninsured, that the premium for a family of four would rise $1,500 dollars a year," he said.

I assume this means we would save $1500 of the $2500-plus that Obamacare cost productive American families to begin with.

Last year, when I made to much, I was on the hook for $13k. But I was able to put $4k in a qualifying IRA and erase that $13k.

You have until April 15th to make a qualifying deposit...
