Stowaways Threaten Cargo Ship’s Crew, But British Police Denies Piracy or Hostage Situation

Police said they were dealing with a complex situation on board the vessel. A spokesman for Grimaldi Lines, which runs the Grande Tema cargo ship, said four stowaways had threatened the ship’s staff.

Sail into international waters, take care of the problem, and then explain that it was just mis-communication.

There must be a UN document somewhere that says not only a re migrants allowed to cross international borders at will, but they must be given accommodations on any mode of transportation going in their direction.

A. Usually Piracy @ Sea in the 21st Century = Somalians.
B. Don’t the British have their version of the Coast Guards?
Maybe an armed vessel can escort them to the nearest safe docking.
C. If this happened to American Cargo ships, I would expect helicopters to start hovering, ready to eliminate the danger.
