To be properly Jewish, one must go out for Chinese food on
Christmas Eve. It started when TV choices included only Christmas programming, that was of no interest to us.
Go into any Chinese restaurant on Christmas Eve and half the customers will be Chinese, and the other half will be Jewish.

Well the lib Jews and Non-Jews here can’t put me in a concentration camp like the Nazis did to my father. We do have the 1st amendment for Dem (and us too) and the 2nd amendment for the rest of US. It’s great that Libs Jews and non-Jews despise Guns/2nd amendment isn’t it?-)
And I am listening to Neil Diamond's "Acoustic Christmas" and will also listen (frequently) to his rendition of 'Kol Nidre' as well. Will be in church on the 24th. God's Blessings to all!

My confusion lies in the multiple ambiguities on what defines a person as a Jew.
How is it that persons who are atheist and communist, and are not necessarily or obviously Semitic ancestrally, are nevertheless deemed Jewish?
I was the only Gentile in my Hebrew class. All of the Jews were basically secular and hedonistic, though they went through the motions of Bar Mitzvah or Bas Mitzvah, and some had lived in Kibbutzim in Israel. Only the teacher was a practicing Jew. She was polite to me; the rest merely tolerated me.
They did not know the Law and the Prophets, as I did, and they lived lives that violated the Ten Commandments on a routine basis.
My mother is actually part Semite (and looks it), but we have never ever claimed to be Jewish, because we are Christians. (I was sometimes maligned in high school for being part Semite, and total strangers have bluntly asked me if I am Jewish. No, neither one especially bothered me; my point is that we look more Semitic than many ostensible Semites.)
The term seems mostly to be a political or cultural device or weapon now.
It should be obvious that my mother, my siblings, and I would likely have been slave labor under the Third Reich. I am not anti-Jewish. I simply do not know what the term means anymore.
It seems to morph on demand depending upon the moment and the purpose. I distrust that.
You don’t know that a Jew is someone born to a Jewish mother or converted to Judaism by the traditional process?
Any other definition is being made by people who are not Jewish or who are eliminating themselves from the traditional family of Jews the way Sadducees, Essenes, Sabbateans, Frankists and other groups have.
Being committed to observing the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah pleases God as much as being Jewish or converting to Judaism.
