Most non-orthodox Jews in America undergo cognitive dissonance when they get to know political views of people like me. I am a constitutional conservative, non-orthodox Jew who pulled the lever hard and strong for President Trump and would do it again over any Democrat (man or woman of the left). I would do it again even if 27 Playboy Bunnies signed nondisclosure agreements, because, in the wide scheme of things, Playboy Bunnies are meaningless in comparison to civilization affecting things like whether we hand $150 billion dollars to America- and Jew-hating terrorists in Iran, deny that boys are boys and girls are girls, reject protection of private property and by doing so run up more trillions of dollars of debt to place on the shoulders of our kids, appoint another radical Supreme Court justice who basically rejects most of our Constitution, trash our police, destroy our national sovereignty at the borders, and hollow out our military.
So the question, in essence, is, where does the philosophical argument from these Jewish Deplorables come from? How could a decent, fairly nice, Torah-studying, graduate school-educated Jew fall so low, be taken over by the Dark Force?

Personal observations: both conservative Christians and conservative Jews are pretty conservative and tend Republican.
Conservative and orthodox Jews typically cannot stand the anti-Semitism and pro-LGBT crap the far left mandates for membership.

I don’t see many in the Orthodox Jewish community supporting the libtard views. They are overwhelmingly conservative.

Reformed Judaism was created in Germany in the 18th century. It’s goal was to allow Jews to apply Jewish beliefs to a modern Western lifestyle.
What’s lost on many of today’s Reformed Jews is that throughout the 18th, 19th, and even the bulk of the 20th century, Judeo-Christian values were respected throughout the West. So there was some inherent common ground between Judaism and Western secular life.
But over the past 40 years, the West has become more and more hostile to Judeo Christian values. And the hostility is most strong among intellectuals, academics, and artists. Jews have always taken pride in being accepted by urban intellectuals.
So as these intellectuals and artists become more and more hostile to religion and Israel, Reformed Jews have to twist themselves into pretzels to convince themselves that there’s some common ground between Judaism and all this anti Judeo Christian sentiment.
We are now at a tipping point....Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capitol is a good example of this. Lots of Jews who would have praised Trump 20 years ago over this don’t even want to talk or think about it, because all their Liberal friends hate Trump. So they mumble to themselves “maybe this isn’t good for making peace with the Palestinians”, when they know damn well that the Palestinians don’t want peace with Israel under any circumstance.
As the Democrat party becomes home to more and more overtly antisemitic Leftist radicals, these Reformed Jews are going to have to choose between completely abandoning any allegiance to Judaism and Israel or rethinking their loyalty to the Democrats.
The 2020 Democrat primary should be very interesting and eye opening in this regard.

I’m not Jewish, but were I not Christian I would not have the slightest objection to being Jewish. Is that OK to say?
I read a lot about the dissonance between American Jews (BDS, pro-Pallie state, we hate Netanyahu) and Israeli Jews who live with the deadly Muslim threat day by day.
Asked my rabbi (known each other for years); he said that many believe that you can be liberal without being Jewish, but you can’t be Jewish without being liberal. He’s a Reform rabbi who demonstrated to our dialogue group the Orthodox customs of phylacteries, prayer shawl, sounding shofar, wearing kippah, and the meaning of Kaddish.
Asked my pastor (Catholic); he held up a Christian Bible & pointed out that over three fourths of its pages consist of the Hebrew Scriptures. He went on to say that a believing Christian should regard him/herself as part Jewish.
Anti-Jewish hatred in our universities: what makes its purveyors any different from the Nazis? Their friends in Hamas display swastikas but where’s the protest?
