The United States pledged $5.8 billion in aid Tuesday for strengthening government and economic development in Central America, and another $4.8 billion in development aid for southern Mexico.
The U.S aid aims to promote better security conditions and job opportunities as part of a regional plan to allow Central Americans and Mexicans to remain in their countries and not have to emigrate.
The plan was announced in a joint U.S.-Mexican statement released by the State Department and read aloud by Mexican Foreign Relations Secretary Marcelo Ebrard in the Mexican capital.
“In sum I think this is good news, very good news for Mexico,” Ebrard said.

Aid is money that supports our government bureaucracy, and the target country’s kleptocracy. it supports corrupt, uneconomic projects thought up by local central planners.
Foreign aid is not helpful, its not even neutral - it has a net NEGATIVE effect.
Lol.. or just irresponsibly send taxpayer dollars to corruptocrats who clearly have a s..hole agenda.

If this is true, we may be seeing 2020 go bye-bye. Unfathomable announcement, especially in light of Trump getting trumped by RINOs to deny the wall. He’d better deny this outright by the end of the day.

Interesting! What are the advantages of agreeing to helping Mexico build the wall to US specifications, using US contractors on the Mexican side of the border? No Eminent Domain problems; no environmental impact studies; US gets total use of the Rio Grande. What is not to like?
Just think of the Wall/fence that could have been built with the cash Obama gave to Iran.
Completely wasted money if it is used to support socialist lunacy.
