I think this explains backing down from shutting down the government. They said “if you don’t fund the wall we’ll give you another senate seat...if you insist on funding the wall you’ll lose another seat.”
On one hand I think it’s a big mistake to appoint someone who just lost.
On the other hand, I’m relieved it’s not a McCain.

Why on God’s green earth would anyone care if Cindy McCain approved?
1. Maybe she will do more good than harm.
2. Maybe she will run a better campaign next time.
