Neither the White House nor congressional Republicans have reached out to Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to try to hammer out a spending bill that would prevent a government shutdown before the Dec. 21 deadline, sources told The Post on Friday.

Non story.
Schumer is in the senate.
Spending bills start in the House.
But they have to get Senate Democrats to offer support for the funding, which was a central point of disagreement during Tuesday’s Oval Office meeting.
Or there is going to be a shutdown.
Yep...in fact, if the NY Post reporters asked all 100 Senators...they’d all have the same story as Schumer. Until the House wraps up it’s bill...nothing occurs. Even if they do this the week after Christmas...the Senate would not handle it until the 2nd week of January, with new incoming members (giving the GOP the majority) would pause over it and likely pass it on.
There’s nothing to “hammer out.”
Both sides have made their positions clear. This garbage has already gone on too long. The RATS are trading our country’s security for political advantage - to the point where their lapdog media is spouting nonsense like “we’re safer without a wall! We need to see what’s going on over there, so a wall is the worst possible thing to do!”. I’m surprised not to hear stories like “Undocumented American saves little baby from runaway elephant!”.
Aww, ya just gave away the plot and ending to the next 5 gajillion movies and tv episodes!
The majority is still not large enough for the Republicans, by themselves, to override a filibuster, which is still in effect for other purposes than judicial and non-judicial appointment confirmations.
A true color non patriot
Is there even a house bill?
Schmucky has been in the dark for a long time. Few prospects for enlightenment.
BS runs high in this one.
SO?
What else did he expect? He’s done nothing but criticize them for every move they make.
So, attach the spending bill as an amendment to a judicial nomination bill
If there is one thing that needs the nuclear option it is budget bills. Too much non-sense in the senate. Either they buy their votes with crap added or they just block them.
This current bill which is only covering the funding of about 8% of the government. Trump should refuse to sign and shut it down for a year for all I care. It covers, EPA, FDA, DOJ, DHS, Dept of Agriculture. Some of my list for permanent shutdown anyway.
Besides, Schumer is in the dark about so many things....what’s one more?
