Well, this was expected. Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) is out at the end of the month. Kyl served previously in the Senate before retiring after the 2012 elections. He left public life, but agreed to fill in temporarily for the late Sen. John McCain. Gov. Doug Ducey, who handily won re-election this year, now has to appoint a replacement. Could it be Martha McSally, who barely lost to Senator-elect Kyrsten Sinema in November? Its still possible, but word is spreading that her stock has fallen in the governors office. One of the reasons was reportedly due to her campaign teams memo on why she lost to Sinema (via WaPo):

Kelli Ward would have won. Solid conservative anti-GOP establishment.
Trump needs to stop listening to McConnell and get his endorsement advice from real Conservatives. We have lost three Senate seats because Trump endorsed the wrong GOP nominee.
I agree. Kelli Ward is the logical and best choice for this but Ducey has been a disappointment lately so who knows what he will do. I guess we will find out soon enough.
More Arizonans voted for her than any other Republican, twice.
It will be a Cheap Labor Express stooge.
Lady Google Eyes, aka Alexandra Occasio Cortez.
Part of the Socialist Invasion.
Whether she deserves all the recognition and fawning, she has it for now.
If Ward is the best...leave her loose to campaign.
Not from AZ so my vote is worthless. That said, what’s wrong with Ward? Another Flake Lite doesn’t seem to be much of an advance.
“What a disgrace these Republicans are.”
If she can’t beat a lesbian anarchist, she should be avoided.
Some Republicans can not discern when they are being delusional.
The President needs to clean out the entire RNC and install his own team to have any hope of bringing back a Republican House with his reelection. It should have already been done the morning after the House was lost and the Senate gains were disappointing, but better late than never.
Kelli Ward.
The problem with McSally is she appears to be a weak Republican. Weak on conservative values.
Of course, that makes her attractive to the RNC-types.

She was also an absolutely ATROCIOUS CANDIDATE. The only reason she won the primary was because of Joe Arpaios narcissistic entrance into the race and President Trumps endorsement at the request of the GOPe.
Kelli Ward.

Absolutely!
