A couple of weeks we had just the latest announcement of a major U.S. corporation (Honeywell, #77 on the 2018 Fortune 500 list) moving its headquarters out of New Jersey. This @sshole should spend more time working for his constituents and less time telling the companies that employ a lot of people in his state how to run their businesses.

Shouldn’t corporate board member be selected according to the interests of the shareholders, not the members themselves, or demographic groups?
Selecting Board Members to match the various percentages of shareholders in a given company by race/ethnicity, gender,
or, socioeconomic level would be interesting; but, my guess is that the majority of shares in most firms are owned by “rich white men”. Choosing by demographic criteria would severely limit the chance of seating those with the most relevant mix of experience, education, foresight/wisdom, integrity, business savvy, connections, vision, and sense of fiduciary duty requisite to the best management and interests of the company.
