An Oval Office meeting with President Trump, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and presumptive incoming speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi Tuesday spiraled out of control in Pelosi's words over funding the border.
With a potential government shutdown looming less than two weeks away, Pelosi told Mr. Trump, "you will not win" on the border wall. The president demanded border wall funding and said he's not afraid the shut down the government over it.

I don't think Trump can get away with having the military build the wall without fund specifically appropriated for it. As much as I would like to see him try, should it come to that, I think there would be too much opposition from Congress - from both sides of the "aisle."
63 million of us elected Trump to build the frickin wall. Let’s build the wall.
Pelosi is SUCH a piece of crap.
I hope we see a lot of this over the next 2 years.
Plus- she’s not in charge yet... why does she matter?
Good. Shut it down. Shut the whole thing down. Schumer blinked once, he’ll blink again. He was more to lose.
Exactly. This is a winning issue for Trump. He’s fulfilling a promise that helped to elect him.
People want border security, especially after seeing the caravan and all its problems.
Pelosi and Schumer were squirming during that meeting.
Trump learned his lesson on meeting with those snakes behind closed doors. I don’t recall the exact issue, but Durbin burned him by misrepresenting what was said.
and now they’re spewing lies outside the white house ...
Mute Mike Pence did not take sides.
The Democrats are desperate to get millions of more illegal voters before 2020.
Schumer reminds me of a snot nosed little brat. Nah Nah Nah nah I know you are but what am i, child
That was the shitthole country debacle.
Hold the vote now. Make Rino Ryan and the rest of his pals vote against the wall before they go home for good. What reason, other than their cowardice, is there to not vote on it now?
Nope, did we expect Trump to Cave?
Shut down the government. Never pay the “workers” for time off...they are usually given a paid vacay. Many governmeent “workers” are a complete waste of money.
"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"
... the care of the property, the liberty, and the life of the citizen, under the solemn sanction of an oath imposed by your Federal Constitution, is in the States, and not in the Federal Government [emphases added]. Rep. John Bingham, Congressional Globe, 1866. (See about middle of 3rd column.)
"It is one of the happy incidents of the federal system that a single courageous State may, if its citizens choose, serve as a laboratory; and try novel social and economic experiments without risk to the rest of the country. Justice Brandeis, Laboratories of democracy.
From the accepted doctrine that the United States is a government of delegated powers, it follows that those not expressly granted, or reasonably to be implied from such as are conferred, are reserved to the states, or to the people. To forestall any suggestion to the contrary, the Tenth Amendment was adopted. The same proposition, otherwise stated, is that powers not granted are prohibited [emphasis added]. United States v. Butler, 1936.
Also, off topic, patriots are encouraged to watch Dan Borginos excellent 37 min video (associated book). The video helps to flesh out the alleged Mueller conspiracy against Pres. Trump.
I don’t think Trump can get away with having the military build the wall
Maybe not but the Military can be used to secure the border by other means short of a permanent physical wall. The short term goal is stop the invasion now.
I believe Trump could declare the wall a national security measure and use military and homeland security funds. I’m sure that would be fought by the illegal lovers on both sides, but it would be interesting to see who and how that would turn out.
