If I were in their shoes, I would light the property on fire and make a quick exit. Wife and kids get a head start.

My thoughts too. However, I would also contaminate ten soil and render it useless for 100 years.

Only after plowing soil with salt, lacing water supply with long-lasting toxins, killing any animals that cannot be sold, and burning all buildings, including farm implements, to the ground.

I’m just guessing here, maybe someone else knows for sure, but I’d guess it already isn’t so easy to just pull up stakes and leave. The trap is closing on these people just as it did in Rhodesia. A lot of misery and heartache is in their future.

But do it remotely - leave and wait until the thieves are there and blow them up with the property. And for later enjoyment take a video of the whole thing with a wifi camera.

I was in the Cape Town region about two months ago. Had a number of conversations with both whites and blacks (working-class types). All of them question how this will go.

The lack of discussion over ‘who’ will get the property got brought up, and one black grinned...then said that only ANC members and their families would receive the properties. Then he explained that this is not just farm-land and ranch properties....the agricultural definition includes orchards and vineyards. He felt that the ANC had a listing of money-makers and the intention was to take most of the vineyard/orchard properties in the first round.

Like you...I don’t think this will go well, and guys will poison their vineyards, blow up the private dams they have, and set all of the orchards on fire.

The odd thing (it would require you to visit and talk to people)....the whole of western South Africa is generally anti-ANC. There just aren’t that many tribal members or blacks there in the western part who support the party. It’s possible some type of break-up action or civil war might start up.
