It would fine by me. It really doesn’t matter if we lose another House Seat. A 1 seat majority is as good as a 100 with the rats. They are scumbags to a man but they do stick together. They will not tolerate a McTraitor. So Meadows is a good choice I think.

Put their names out first and that gives the Dems time to come up with dirt.

Why isn’t Dave Brat being considered? He’s articulate, and will be out of a job in January.

Sorry, but the QUALITY of each Republican member of the House matters immensely. Devious snakes such as Paul Ryan (owned by the lobbyists and the open-borders crowd) are worse than worthless. Meadows and other members of the Freedom Caucus are precious to us. We need to KEEP the ones we have and ADD NEW MEMBERS FIT FOR THAT CAUCUS.

I’d take Mulvaney, Kobach and Bongino, in that order.

(Yes, Dan Bongino is a ‘fun’ pick - anything to make Lib heads explode)

I do not have the hiccups - should read - “I would like to see him find another from the military to maintain an orderly and disciplined WH.”

Terrible idea. There is certainly no excess of Republicans in Congress who support most of Trump’s agenda and Meadows seems to be one. Leave him where he is.

This is all very strange. Am I to take all this to mean that Trump does not know more than one person whom he trusts with the acumen and energy to run the White House and act as a gate keeper for him? Not more than two without having to ask around to see if any others do? If true this all reflects very badly on Trump.

I consider the source of the information and other Presidents have had many Chiefs of staff but I’ve never heard of one “asking around” for one.

“reported on Sunday that Trump has recently been asking many people about who he should name as his chief of staff when Kelly officially departs.”

He could put an add in the paper.

I’m only half kidding since what he has done so far with a lot of key positions is no better than randomly casting about and interviewing.

? I’m sure Trump has many candidates among whom he can choose. Many have been mentioned in this thread.

I’ll add another to the mix that no one is thinking about: Mike Huckabee

A chief of staff should have experience being in charge of others. As governor of Arkansas, Huckabee has that experience. Plus he’s most definitely not a DC insider.

My first choice is still Mick Mulvaney.
