Given their hesitancy, I'm not even certain the house could advance it to the Senate. Simple majority needed there. They would get their jollies simply to make the case in the house for all to see, without the need to advance to the Senate where it would fail.
Their goal is to damage Trump, and defeat him in 2020, knowing removal from office has never been successful, either failing in the senate, or forcing a resignation.
Don’t kid yourself. The Dems would be a solid block and Romney would be at the helm organizing the likes of Collins, Sasse, and more anti-Trumpers than you’d like to admit. Some would be willing to do it, and like King could likely be paid well enough for it unless Trump really overturns the DS in the next few months, even if it were the likely end to their political careers.
The question is whether the Dems would go for such political suicide—and right now I’m not ready to bet against it.
The media has been damaged for lack of credibility and liberal leaning bias. Most conservatives turn the garbage hatred off. The Dems. are desperately trying to keep “Trump Hate” alive in everything they do. Most of us are too busy to listen to uninformed talking heads, full of Trump hatred. Let the media pretend they are credible to each other. We are glad we have a remote control to turn off the “out of control Trump Hatred” called the news.
Don’t forget they still want revenge for Slick’s (The Bent One) impeachment in 1998...
