Partner, thanks so much for that picture of our great "General Black Jack Pershing". BTW, my Grandfather proudly started serving under "General Black Jack Pershing" around 1910 thru 1918.

President Wilson chose "General Black Jack Pershing" to be the commander for the U.S. troops that were sent in to fight the Germans in 1918 during WWI and the fighting in trenches stopped before the end of 1918.

My grandfather told my father that the fighting in trenches stopped because the Americans came into battle and they fought with such ferocity that the American forces would get out of the trenches and they would attack the Germans in the trenches and pretty soon the Germans would get out of the trenches and retreat away from the American forces.

WWI was a very bloody war with around 20 Million Europeans losing their life. Also, 1918 was a brutal year for the Flu since around 100 Million people would lose their lives to the Influenza outbreak.
