What the heck? During their busiest week of the year?

Only a government agency would do this at a time like this. It's a media/establishment love-fest for Bush, produced and directed by the leftist media/deep state posers to make sure everyone knows this honorable, nice, decent man was supportive of their globalist, new world order dream.

I guess the ‘Deep State’ was thinking the same thing, when they shut down the government to honor Ronald Reagan:

It certainly does illuminate those whose egocentric grudges outweigh their knowledge of history.

This is just a cheap excuse to catch up on all the holiday catalog sorting for delivery.

In honor of President George H.W. Bush, the USPS will make sure your Victoria's Secret catalog gets to you on time.

Neither wind, nor rain, nor snow, nor gloom of night,

but maybe thousand points of light,

will slow the mail.

Right, I assume all postal employees will take the day off to spend in quiet contemplation of Bush's life and works.

What nonsense.

Last time I was in a USPS facility I noted everyone there should have been fired for piss poor, downright offense customer service.

... or you can put it in a mail box.

When I got out of school, I worked there at Christmas a couple of years. Loved it. Yes, there are a lot of slackers ... especially at the main branches ... like downtown LA.

But, a lot of exercise delivering door to door, met a lot of nice people. It was nice all the way around.

You’re conflating a general principle with an unusual circumstance and a federally directed accommodation of same.

(They still don’t deliver general mail on Sunday, as far as I’ve seen...)

Of course they do it every time one of them drop dead. Did ya expect they to do something involving common sense?

And what has the mail got to do with a president dying? It seems they're suggesting the USPS is not really important, critical or needed.

Btw, will the postal workers be paid for not working?

As I understand the policy, they will be paid or receive compensatory time.

It seems to me a very materialistic way of looking at life to disparage entirely the importance of symbol/ritual, and the ideals that underlie them, in our collective national life. Many would say that our ideals are really all we’ve got left.

But if all you care about is money, well...

Maybe they should charge city people for mail delivery like us rural customers so the operation would not go broke.

Every other business in business does it that way, otherwise they don't stay in business.

So these government employees are not going to deliver mail but they’ll get paid anyway? And you support this?

And the rest of us will manage to put in a full day of work because we’re not special.
