As I understand the policy, they will be paid or receive compensatory time.
It seems to me a very materialistic way of looking at life to disparage entirely the importance of symbol/ritual, and the ideals that underlie them, in our collective national life. Many would say that our ideals are really all we’ve got left.
But if all you care about is money, well...
So these government employees are not going to deliver mail but they’ll get paid anyway? And you support this?
Well I don’t care about the financial end of this issue, however I do not think the death of a former president requires the mail to be stopped and the markets to be closed.
I live in a republic, not a monarchy.
