“Hey, do you know that Cabelas was bought out by Dicks? Theyre the same company.”
Bass Pro Shops bought Cabela’s.

Cabelas made it so damn difficult for me to buy a hunting rifle that they made my do not frequent list. How did they do that?

For its hatred of the Second Amendment, I hope DICK’S has to file Chapter 7.
To: Pearls Before Swine
Nope. But then, we no longer shop at Cabela’s since they’ve stopped giving that 5% military discount; not that we’re miserly but to me it’s a slam against our military and they went liberal. Secondly they’re high priced for their stuff.

Naw, I’m too close to Washington DC for those types of stores. Gun stores here are primarily sell pistols and the tactical stuff.
The Walmarts near me don’t even sell guns in them.

I have to drive past Palmetto State Armory, Sportsman’s Warehouse and Academy to get to Dick’s. Why the cuss would I?

Hope they can sell enough tofu-based granola and pink, “Don’t hate me for my Y-chromosome” spandex t-shirts to the soy boys to make up what they’re losing. Good luck with that.

I wouldn’t considering going to Dicks for anything. Of course they don’t want my firearm or ammo business. I still buy quite a bit of sporting equipment for seven grandchildren. None of those dollars goes to Dicks either.

Dicks sells almost no firearms anyone would want to purchase. And its ammo selection is poor, too.

My family, too.
They can sell lots of NFL teams paraphernalia, too but not to me.
We don’t even walk through their store anymore to get to the parking lot.

Great, so they become glorified sportswear store
Good luck competing with Amazon
This will not end well for Dick's
They p.ssed off a lot of sportsmen
To: MileHi
How did they do that?
It's kind of a long story of ignorance on both of our parts. The difference being that I don't sell 10s of guns (or buy them) on a daily basis.
They didn't like the documents I provided and said that there was no way to use them on the VA AFT forms.
I ended up calling the state police and getting the real story. They actually mentioned that there have been numerous complaints against that particular store.
I would have assumed that the Cabelas staff were just incompetent but the state police also mentioned that they've gone to that particular store to conduct training for their employees on how to handle these state ATF forms. They've also sent notifications to the corporate headquarters. It could still be incompetence and ignorance, but the jury is still out if it's willful or not.
Either way, because of their poor service, they're on the same list as Dicks. I can buy my redneck designerwear on line from academy or other places.

I suspect that there are a lot of people like me who used to hunt and do a lot of shooting, but are just too busy with kids and family. My hobby the past ten years has been taking FIVE kids to practice and attending games in Volleyball, Basketball, Track, Cross Country, Baseball, Wrestling and Football... lots of football. And guess where I don’t go any more to buy balls, shoes, socks, shorts, headbands, ankle and wrist braces, helmets, bats, mitts, cleats, pads, girdles, practice pants, gloves, mouthpieces, tape, hand warmers, warmup gear, etc. any more? That’s right Dick’s. And since I still do some fishing I don’t go there for any of that equipment either. So as they see an across the board drop in sales on not just guns and ammo it’s a message from a broader base of customers that they don’t care for left-wing political activism from retail stores.
