I recently did a little computer-generated test to help determine my “physiological age” as compared to my “chronological age.” (Thankfully, I was 8 years younger than my chronological age, 55 rather than 63.) One of the first questions I was asked was whether I was male or female. Why? It’s because — brace yourself! — men are biologically different than women. What a revolutionary concept!

Note carefully that last sentence, which singles out “misgendering” and “deadnaming.””

One nice thing about being a relatively old(ish) man is not having to give even half a rat’s ass about being thought curmudgeonly when I LOL at 90% of today’s current societal insanities.
Nah, it’s using a name that is no longer used for whatever reason. If I changed my name from “Steve” to “Bob”, but you insisted on calling me “Steve”, you’re deadnaming me, you big bully you. ;)
(FD: I did change my name, still go by both, don’t care what the hell you call me as long as you don’t call me late for dinner. Different upbringing, different time).
This insanity, which is spreading, is what finishes us off, not the Jihadists, not the Russians, not the ChiComs.
The war is here and we are losing.
I recall seeing him around campus, mostly near the student union. Not being a namedropper, and knowing I was a nobody, I never tried to engage him, but some of my classmates in weight training loved to drop his name.
