And people make fun and ridicule the Catholic Church for selling indulgences (permission) to sin in the middle ages. Anybody see a difference?

Nope.

so much for cap and trade!

21 Nov: Mercury News editorial: Editorial: California bullet train built on foundation of deceit
Now a long-awaited state audit released last week finds that poor management has contributed to construction delays and billions of dollars of cost overruns. And inadequate contract controls left the auditor unable to determine whether the state received the quantity and quality of work it has paid for thus far.
It’s time to end this fiasco — to stop throwing good money after bad.
It’s an embarrassment to the state. To Gov. Jerry Brown, who has blindly pushed the project ever since he took office in 2011...

California’s high-speed rail project has been built so far on a foundation of deceit.
A decade ago, voters were promised a system from San Diego to San Francisco and Sacramento at a cost of $45 billion. Today, the cost estimate is $77 billion just to link San Francisco to Anaheim.
And, after 10 years of work, the High-Speed Rail Authority has only managed to secure $12.7 billion, enough for links between Bakersfield and Madera, and from Gilroy to San Francisco. It doesn’t even have the money for tunneling needed to connect those two legs.
So much for a statewide system.

Worse, according to state Auditor Elaine Howle, there’s a high likelihood of additional cost increases. In other words, the constantly rising price is almost certain to go up more...
Let’s stop this waste of scarce public money now.

It’s just a fake “environmental shell game” where there is nothing under the shell.

Why doesn’t the President issue an emergency order declaring California a national insane asylum and close their borders to the world?

It would take decades to figure out all the mental illnesses that state has in it but meanwhile it would keep psychos like Maxine Waters, Nancy Pelosi, Moonbeam, Frankenfeinstein, Schiff for brains, Swallowswell, and others safely locked away from other humans.

Let the conservatives move to the southern part of the state so that they can be screened, cleared, and made part of a new state, South California. All libs, leftists, Marxists, Democrats, Irredentists, BLM folks, and druggies would be forced to move north into North California.

No one from NC would ever be allowed to move into the southern part of the state or another state. Think of it as “No Escape from LA” on steroids.

In know that this is an extreme idea but then again, California is an “extreme” state and a danger to sane people, the Constitution, and America.

It is a cancer that must be stopped, treated, and destroyed.

You can volunteer to purchase authority to exist for $100, a smile on your face is a requirement, or you will be taxed $200.

Would the state have to purchase carbon credits for the ovens?

Maybe the highways they taxed for but never repaired might actually get fixed ?

I wouldnt count on the money NOT being squandered on useless leftist projects and pet schemes of the politicos

No shortage of Republicans who are in love with it too. Particularly in the "investment community".
