“Trump’s Border Wall Could Trigger a Government Shutdown”

To me, if you cant have effective border security, then the damn thing should shutdown because you have no reason to exist until you do.

The demonrats wish it would shut down until they can get into office. They don’t want anything passed/approved the next few weeks. This “shutdown” is nothing and totally made up by them.

Trump has maximum leverage and minimum risk... All he has to do is pretend it is a real estate deal and play maximum hardball... The RINOS and the Democrats don’t have the stomach to see the government shut down for weeks at a time. They are ripe for the picking.

You have offered a narrow, but accurate, perspective.

If the $8b migrant cost in the article is accurate and then logically compared to the partial $5b wall cost, a broader, stand-off view might be - whether, and at what point, should politicians who insist on ignoring both fiscal prudence and obvious national security threats be thought of as "attempting to overthrow the government".

This may be viewed by some as a reasonable political disagreement, but how else could an overthrow be accomlished more efficiently than by engineering a failed defense coupled with fiscal irresponsibility?

That term, of course, might be thought obsolete or even inapplicable by those who voted for O's "the constitution is fundamentally flawed."

What result if we did not have a street-fighter in the Oval Office?

-—Plurality vote reqired to fund a wall.——

Well, I was not aware of that fact, but on reflection, concede your point.

It is possible then, by Christmas

No, the Democrats share responsibility for any shutdown.

“Why do we only ask for $5 billion?”

Trump grew up in NY dealing with mafia run trade unions. His next offer will be higher...say about 9-11 billion.

It’ll be a teaching moment for the incoming Dem leadership.

Always remember that 1/2 of the Dems in Congress are Socialists/Communists. That makes them thugs....treat them as such.
