There were no “lynching” comments.

The GOPe plugged her into the senate seat. No way she would have beaten Chris McDaniel without their backing.

I blame Mitch, Haley Barbour. and the GOPe for fumbling the seat away in Alabama. They got behind a man with their PAC money that most state thought shouldn’t be elected.

The GOPe are really bad for this nation.

This moron is a train wreck! Just who doesn’t think she’s going to be a problem in the Senate?

You can bet that the whole cheating team is on the ground in Mississippi skipping Thanksgiving dinner and getting ready, hiding boxes of ballots all over the state, lawsuits already drafted, judges selected, the whole nine yards.

And what are the Republicans doing to protect seat #53 in the next Senate?

Probably nothing.

Since when do blacks and the racist-cabal get to claim “lynching” as their private preserve for harvesting outrage - I’m half German descent - how ‘bout those Germans who were lynched and tarred-and-feathered in this country in the anti-German hysteria during WWI - I understand that what the senator to be was saying was said in jest - I’m not even half-outraged.....

Getting pressure from Democrats no doubt.

The Democrats are desperate to win this seat and that's why they're throwing everything they can at Hyde-Smith hoping something sticks.

They're planning that a 52/48 Senate means a Romney/Collins/Murkowski alliance can thwart Trump (Pubbies can't count on Manchin now that he's been safely re-elected). 53/47 and Pence can break the tie. Alliance is useless.

Espy must win at all costs.

Probably Republicans too, but it was a stupid ignorant comment even though she was not talking about lynchings, but rather public hangings that used to occur around the world. They too were pretty gruesome, but they often made people think about doing something wrong. Which of course was why they were held. Had nothing to do with race. But speaking of a hanging is going to evoke thoughts of lynchings, especially in this day and age of highly sensitive people, and a press all too eager to make a Republican look like a racist, while smoothing over the statement if uttered by a Democrat.

Mississippi politicians aren't elected to be smart, they're elected to bring pork home for their constituents.

CHS could've been a Khmer Rouge sympathizer, but because she's running as a Republican she will do whatever President Trump and/or Boss Hogg Barbour tell her to do.

Half a dozen corporations have asked Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith to reimburse their contributions to her runoff campaign.

I think Cindy should accuse these donors of being "Indian Givers". - Tom

This is why I think we should not longer support tax cuts and subsidies and what not for the corporate wing of our party until they change their ways.
