Deutsche Welle’s Spanish language channel, DW Español, traveled to Tijuana in order to interview some of the migrants living in the camps. A reporter asked one of the migrants how the living conditions were in the camp. The woman complained about the food she had been given in the camp, calling it food for “pigs” and saying she would “die of hunger” if she did not eat it.
“The truth is, the food that they’re handing out here is terrible,” the woman complained while holding up the food platter. “Look at what they’re giving us. Refried beans, as if they were feeding the pigs. And the truth is, we don’t have any other options. If we don’t eat this, we will die of hunger,” according to the Spanish translation of her answer.

She’s complaining about refried beans and tortillas??? WTH? I love refried beans and tortillas. She sure as hell doesn’t belong in Texas with her attitude about Mexican or Tex-Mex food.
A billion people eat Chinese food every day of the week and think nothing odd about it.
How was the food in her home country?
Maybe somebody can give her directions back there.
She’d probably try to put beans in chili.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but they’ve been eating beans and tortillas down there for several thousand years. What did she expect?
