Caravan splits up, rips Mexico for directing migrants toward 'route of death'

ISLA, Mexico — A 4,000-strong caravan of Central American migrants traveling through Mexico split up into several groups with one spending the night in a town in the coastal state of Veracruz and other migrants continuing toward the country’s capital.

The divisions came during a tense day in which tempers flared and some migrants argued with caravan organizers and criticized Mexican officials. They were upset that Veracruz Gov. Miguel Angel Yunes had reneged on an offer late Friday to provide buses on Saturday to leapfrog the migrants to Mexico City.

The migrants trekked to the town of Isla, about 700 miles (1,126 kilometers) south of the U.S. border, where several thousand stopped to rest, eat and receive medical attention. They planned to spend the night there before departing at 5 a.m. Sunday en route to the town of Cordoba.

But other migrants, mainly men and the younger members of the group, kept on walking or hitching rides toward Puebla and Mexico City. They hunkered down for the night in Juan Rodriguez Clara or Tierra Blanca farther along the route.

Caravan organizers have pleaded for buses in recent days after three weeks on the road, hitching rides and walking. With the group scattered, some have raised questions about whether the caravan would stick together.

In a statement, the migrants lambasted Mexican officials for directing them northward through the Gulf Coast state of Veracruz, calling it the “route of death.” A trek via the sugar fields and fruit groves of Veracruz takes them through a state where hundreds of migrants have disappeared in recent years, falling prey to kidnappers looking for ransom payments.

Only if it’s planned strategically. Military commanders ordering the shots. That’s not what’s happening here.

I know; my comment was nevertheless intended to remind us all that this is not a mere "caravan," but rather an invasion.

There are similarities and parallels, after all.

And even the barbarian invaders (Visigoths, etc.) tended to attack from more than one direction.

Even wolves are smart enough to not employ a full frontal assault.

Regards,

So which caravan of invaders are they talking about? The first one, second one, third one or fourth one?

I get your take on this, since Fox News is telling us:" Four caravans are currently traveling inside Mexico, totaling some 12,000 Central American migrants." - Tom

Somebody turned the money spigot off.

The size of these things was their political value, but it's logistically impossible for such formations to live off the land without extensive outside support. I shudder to think at what would happen if a column of people 4000 strong marched into our little community here with medical problems, no money, no accommodations, and hungry bellies. Now try that in a small, rural Mexican community. For weeks on end. Disaster.

Of course it was a political stunt, and not just for the Democrats, who were clearly anticipating a reprise of the Kiddies In Cages trope in the eager media. It was also a stunt to show Europe that forced immigration from outside is impossible to stop, and if the invaders ended up in porous refugee camps for a time that was really good enough, especially for propaganda purposes. That those camps might end up in Mexico and form a sort of Mexican Palestine was also good enough except, of course, in the eyes of the Mexicans, who have born the brunt of this charade and continue to do so.

This is high-stakes poker using human beings as chips, and the people doing it believe that history is on their side. They'll be back.

This article seems to suggest that Mexico is actually giving a bit of resistance to this group: denying buses and rerouting the course.

Another rope-a-dope win for Trump. The left started the invasion, Trump turned it into a winning strategy. The left money is drying up, leaving the invaders on their own.

Hundreds? WOW, now that's a story the media won't touch. It makes Mexico look criminal and the migrants look like they are endangering the welfare of women and children.

While this is good, and has once again demonstrated that DJT does not bluff when it matters, this is far from over.

It is my hope that the personnel sent to the border will use this opportunity to continue to fortify it and make it tougher to get in.

Besides the unifying aspects of this for our side, we may also get some border improvements ahead of schedule.

Realize that if we lose the House and Trump doesn’t get a second term, the Rats will undo everything very rapidly. They will go for broke right off the bat. This war has a very long way to go.

They set out on their own deaths walking thousands of miles with nothing but the kindness of strangers to help them along.

It worked for Blanche DuBois.

“Do you think this invasion is over?

Not by a long shot, it will only escalate from here. What I’m happy about is that our President acted, lead the nation and lead our military into action swiftly and effectively. I doubt even the Bushes would have handled this so well, and certainly not ANY dem we’ve ever had.

I’m still elated over the results !

Guess Soros didn’t give them enough walking around money.

Soros partners with Mastercard to hand out money to migrants.

Transportation to Vexico City is ‘provided’ by a trucking firm owner who told all his drivers to go pick these people up......no doubt someone with a lot of money is paying that owner lots of money to haul them.

Also Venzuela, hand in glove with China’s financing are behind this push of migrants into the US. The old story to keep the poor poor and you can lead them at will......they’re using these poor people to crash our system.

One migrant gal said that most women in Hondouras are single mothers because the men don’t want the responsibility. So we’ll be seeing those mothers and kids on our welfare rolls for life no doubt...

As a Boy Scout, we had two common hikes in San Diego. The Camelback was a 30 mile trek over the mountains. 20 miles the first day, then 10 the second. The other hike was the "El Camino". It started at the border and finished 30 miles north. One day. Flat terrain. Sack lunch and a canteen. I missed the Summer 8-day hike to the top of Mt Whitney. All supplies carried from the starting point. All hiking at fairly high elevations. It was definitely a fat burner. We took a 30 mile hike out in the Borrego Desert too. I carried 2 gallons of water. We walked 15 miles in and back. I lost 12 lbs overnight and consumed every bit of my water.

This is true. The Bushes would never have even considered sending our military down there as a show of force.
What’s even better is these troops are setting up razor wire, not dusting off Teddy Bears and Soccer Balls.
I too was impressed by that direct, unambiguous kind of action. Countries don’t put up razor wire if they are thrilled with your arrival. Maybe even some of Los Desperados can figure that out.
