More censorship.
Remember that these broadcast propagandists require a government-issued license.

"Critics said it was designed to stir up anger at immigrants ahead of Election Day" Looks like the "critics" are finally catching on.
And, they are NOT immigrants.

That would include virtually every ad the Dem Senatorial Committee has run against Braun

Actually I expect Trump will tweet a complaint about NBC doing this, drawing far more attention to the ad than if they had left well enough alone.
To: digger48
Doesn’t an ad buyer pay money to place that ad on tv? Did they return the money put up to show those ads? Our networks are beyond hope when politics mean more than ad money!

Here in Minneapolis I see endless democrat ads saying Republicans will take away healthcare and will stop coverage for everyone with a pre-existing condition.
But those lies are ok.
To: Mr. K
So NBC gets to decide what a candidate can say? Essentially and, surprisingly, via its public license. At the end of this line of reasoning it will reject all Trump/GOP ads because they are "devisive".
Surprised there is not some sort of "public accommodation" type of statute.

More than a slippery slope. Because they operate under the permission umbrella of the FCC, they have violated Republicans’ 1st Amendment rights and should be subject to FCC censure, up to and including shutting down all network-owned stations. The classic phrase is “violation of the public’s trust.”

I guess NBC is willing to risk that penalty in the long run in order to keep Trump from flipping more votes to the GOP in the short run.
To: Buckeye McFrog
If its a political ad I dont believe they are allowed to do this.
Trump is not yet an announced candidate, so there is a LOT more latitude. I believe the rule is that you can't reject an ad from a candidate's campaign unless you refuse to run ANY ads from any candidates.

So have an announced Senate candidate run it on NBC again.

The Border doesn't have a Race.
The Laws covering the Border don't have a Race.
I don't care if the Swedish Bikini Team is there. Come in Legally or Go Home.

That has been done. (Sometimes with straw third parties. Randall Terry did it as a candidate to get otherwise unairable pro-life ads on the air). The trick is to get the money to the Senate campaign legally in a sufficient bundle to afford the ad. A national buy would likely require Michael Huffington/Linda McMahon type money from someone who can self-fund. Maybe Trump could run for Senate in California!

I saw the ad. Very convincing. Build The Wall!
Why no outrage from Black Lives Matter? This illegal from south of the border shot a BLACK police officer in the face FIVE TIMES! (Amazingly, he survived!)
And the cretin said he’d kill more if he could.
Ain’t diversity grand?
