The driving test was great fun back when they made you parallel park.

I can imagine millennials doing that...............

Only thing I got criticized for when taking the test. I parked perfect but I didn't turn around to look when backing up. I'm like "we're in the middle of nowhere & there's just these orange cones". I passed.

Fifty years ago when I took my driver’s test I parallel parked perfectly, better than anytime before or since.

We got a new car two years ago that does it automatically now. Tried it once and it works well. Only issue is that I’m too cantankerous to go anywhere that requires parallel parking anymore.

Times change.

I failed my first driver’s test.

I had a ‘51 Buick Roadmaster. Dad found it in the paper for $95. The clutch was nearly gone so you really had to feather it to keep if from chattering.

The examiner had me parallel park on a hill between two cars. I was doing great until I tapped the bumper on the car behind me.

No kidding! I had to parallel park a big huge 1957 Mercury at a parking meter on a busy downtown street. Passed, though.
