156,562,000: Record Employment for 12th Time Under Trump
CNSNEWS ^ | November 2, 2018 | Susan Jones

(CNSNews.com) - The economy is the second most important issue for registered voters as the midterm election nears, a new Gallup Poll says. And there was very good economic news on Friday, as the Labor Department's Bureau of Labor Statistics rolled out the October employment report -- the final one before next week's midterm election.

The number of employed Americans has never been higher. The 156,562,000 Americans employed in October is the twefth record set under President Donald Trump.

In October, the number of employed men age 20 and up -- 80,405,000 -- set the 12th record since Trump took office; and likewise, for the 12th time, the number of employed women age 20 and up set a record, reaching 70,909,000 in October.

The unemployment rate held at 3.7 percent, the same as September, which is the lowest it's been in decades -- since the end of 1969. And the Hispanic unemployment rate, 4.4 percent, has never been lower.

The unemployment rate for African-Americans, 6.2 percent, remained near the all-time low of 5.9 percent set in May.

On top of those numbers, the economy added a whopping 250,000 jobs last month. After revisions, job gains have averaged 218,000 over the past 3 months.

The number of Americans not in the labor force dipped to 95.8 million, down from last month's record high; and the labor force participation rate increased two-tenths of a point to 62.9 percent, a move in the right direction.

Among the major worker groups, the unemployment rates for adult men (3.5 percent), adult women (3.4 percent), teenagers (11.9 percent), Whites (3.3 percent), Blacks (6.2 percent), and Asians (3.2 percent) showed little or no change in October.

Downside for me is that my commute takes longer — there are lots and lots of cars taking people to jobs these days. Roads are slow! Also the parking lot at work fills up now and sometimes I have to use a secondary lot. I never had these problems when Obama was president! LOL

Thank You Obama for all you had done. You set it all in motion by giving us the very worst, turning a bad economy into a more terrible one. I haven’t been this patriotic since IKE and Regan. Its too bad that we had to educate our children the progressive way, so they could elect rock stars instead of qualified LEADERS. (You can call anyone a leader, but in the end the veneers come off and expose their real traits.) Mc Carvell was correct, “Its the economy stupid”, stupid did nothing to improve it, it took a business man to see through it, and take the necessary action to turn it around for everyone. Are the Libs happy? Hell NO! They want everyone to be equally miserable under the pretext that all is well if they are. Let America do what it does best, produce! When the machines of industry are running, everyone has a chance in the American dream.

I was listening to Fox News on the radio and they keep repeating the mantra that the Republicans are not running on the strong economy, which is their highest card.

Now that is puzzling considering that Trump trumpets that every time he gets in front of a microphone.

THAT my friends, are the real numbers we should be concerned with. Too many people still sitting in the sidelines receiving welfare checks.

No surprise. The point point of all the fake scandals is to avoid reporting on good economic news.

The first answer is to, like me, live closer to work. The second is a problem that’s not to bad to have. I have a hike sometimes too. So there’s a bit more exercise for you, even in the snow!

Not really the case. The largest population cohort in history, the Boomers, are in or heading toward retirement. They are receiving SSI, pension, and IRA monies. None of those are welfare or entitlements. Longer life spans for these people also add to the numbers of those not in the worlforce.

Considering the rate of retirement for the baby boom generation, it’s impressive that this has even maintained a steady state.

What it tells me is that since the rate of retirement is probably not changing, a lot of folks are coming into the work force just to keep that participation rate flat. So things are better than you might think.
