Poll: Black Voter Approval for Trump Hits Yearly High After ‘Blexit’

Black voter approval of President Trump hit the year’s high at 40 percent this week, according to daily tracking by Rasmussen Reports.

The high-water mark comes right after the “Blexit,” or “Black exit from the Democratic Party,” movement spearheaded by Turning Point’s Candace Owens was launched over the weekend, which drew thousands of young African Americans to Washington, DC.

The numbers are based on a three-day rolling average of 1,500 likely voters surveyed nationally every night, according to Rasmussen’. About 12 to 13 percent of those are likely black voters.

“We never saw 40 percent before,” said Ted Carroll, of Rasmussen’s parent company Noson Lawen Partners.

The monthly average of black voter support is much lower — typically in the 20s range, but that too has been rising over time. During Trump’s first year in office, it averaged about 21 percent. So far, during his second year, it has ticked up to 24 percent.

The monthly average low was 18 percent in July 2017, and the monthly average high has been 27 percent in June and August 2018.

Carroll said Rasmussen does not speculate what is driving the higher black voter approval of Trump, but said if he had to guess, it would be the economy.

“Carroll said Rasmussen does not speculate what is driving the higher black voter approval of Trump, but said if he had to guess, it would be the economy.”

Perhaps expressed support, and promises made, and kept might have something to do with it.

Now will this higher black voter approval of President Trump actually translate to votes next Tuesday, at least 15% and hopefully even 20%, or more?

20% of the black vote for Trump net Tuesday would be earth shaking.

Early voted thus this morning in CO: all R, no to constitutional amendments on redistricting, no to increased taxes and no to judges.

I live in an R rural area so my vote for my congresscritter and state representative and state senator counts.

CO won’t join any Red Tsunami on Tuesday but hopefully the country would.

Vote because President Trump asks you to and because its the right thing to do.

No election has mattered as much as this one for the future of our country.

No it will not. I live in Memphis, 85% black population. No interest in voting this year in general. The Blackburn / Breddesen fight has no interest either. Public is frankly sick of it.

Make that 20% of the black vote for Republican candidates next Tuesday.

If the Republicans get 20% of the black vote and can keep it going into 2020, the Democrat party is done!

Of the blacks who do vote next Tuesday, if we could just see many Republican candidates receiving more than 10% of their votes, that would be progress. 15% or more would be earth shaking.

That's true, and an increase of several percentage points (from the usual 30% or so) of the Hispanic vote would make things even more difficult for the Dims.

“We must then pray for a very high turn out amongst black voters.”

Actually, we should pray that those that do vote, vote Republican.

This and unchecked Hispanic illegal immigration. There's a dirty, little secret in LA, and other cities; AAs and illegal immigrants from Latin America/Mexico aren't best buds.
