If this is who he really is, I’d just as soon have Menendez. I guess this is as good as it gets in terms of a Republican in New Jersey.

I would never count on a Republican to win a Senate contest in NJ - at the very least, they’ll dig up Lousyberg to run against any Republican with a chance. Also, his vote would be irrelevant - we wouldn’t need it if we had a big majority, and if we were losing seats (or staying even) then NJ is an utterly lost cause.
That said, there are probably a lot of moderates (by NJ standards, mind you) who won’t vote for him or would vote against him, if he backed Trump’s immigration policies...so he kind of had to say this. I don’t like it, but you say different things in NJ than TX.

That’s fine. I’m willing to get the seat and add a few additional wins because of it. Menendez will NEVER vote with Trump, this guy will end up voting 60 or 70 percent with Trump.
Trying to show how much he is anti-Trump won’t help him. He needs to focus on the Democrats, not go against Trump.

Hugin is a liberal. He even admitted it early on in his campaign that he was against Trump.

I would completely disagree! Better to know that you have an avowed enemy than to be tricked into thinking you have a friend. Would you prefer Paul Ryan to some RAT backbencher? Besides, Menendez is the RAT Poster Child for Corruption, the gift that keeps on giving. Huggin hasn’t been elected and yet here he is trashing his party’s leader. F*ck him, I hope he looses. One Mitt Romney in the Senate is more than enough.

Trump lost New Jersey by a wide margin, so in Hugin’s home state Trump hasn’t shown anyone a damn thing.
