Among other reasons mentioned above, Abbott is running against Lupe Valdez, former sheriff of Dallas County, Texas. Thing is, her record as sheriff was abysmal and many Democrats can’t bring themselves to support her - or actively loathe her - for what happened when she was sheriff. Even Hispanic/Lesbian identity politics won’t save her.
The Irish Fake Mexican doesn’t have a significant recent history in Texas, much like Obama didn’t have much of a real history either.
Poll doesn’t make sense, therefore democrats planning on cheating.
Consider the accuracy of the polls in 2016.

Abbott is up that high because of his opponent. She never had a snowball’s chance in hell. Cruz might be up by 8 now, but will probably win by a double digit difference.
Democrats can’t even tell you who their candidate for governor is. There are no signage or t-shirts or bumper stickers. I have seen them for Abbott, thnough.
Seeing the same thing here in GA.
An extremist radical socialist Dem is very close to being Govt because a lot of GA women, who normally vote GOP, are supporting her. They are support her because “it would be historic to have the 1st black woman Governor”
Because the Cruz/Beto The Fake Mexican polls are fake and the Democrat running for governor is an out and out communist so they know better than to try to lie on that race.
It means that there are still a lot of Hate Cruz losers that would rather have a corrupt Democrat than Ted.
Beto is hyped 24/7 by most media and has money money money. I wonder what the real vote will be. If he is down by 7-8 that is pretty big loss for all his promotion and his push among the young college/young adult want to be cool crowd. Polling first time voters may throw a kink in the final vote.
Cruz is the adult intellectual. Beto is “hip, cool, with it, fresh, new, young” when in reality he isn’t that young, has been in politics longer than Cruz and uses a fake name to sound Hispanic. I think he does fake tanning too to make himself look darker. If you watch him on stage, he is very awkward, gesticulating and pointing and looks like a stick figure. His politics are far left but like Obama he says words that don’t mean anything. Interesting that NYT published a story about his shady past today. Makes me curious why now when the info has been around since the beginning. I hope he doesn’t win and looks like he won’t but expect him to run for Pres in 2020 and maybe NYT is trying to take him out for one of their preferences.
Abbott is popular and the Dem is unknown, lesbian, Latina former Police Chief from Dallas I think. She is a bad candidate. So is Bob but he has been pushed relentlessly and has a better appearance. You know, Bob has the right education to be a leftist totalitarian socialist and the lady does not.
